Director's statement
Characters are the center of my work. For the sake of proximity, I spend a lot of time observing and analyzing my protagonists. This is what allows me to understand them and thus know in which context to immerse them, in order to bring out their essence the best I can.
Filmed during the pandemic, the protagonists of Everything’s fine were found from Facebook trucker’s and women's groups. Therefore, I met them for the first time as I showed up with my team and the camera, which is something I never do. It was quite destabilizing for me, and it questioned some of my directing choices.
Everything’s fine probably taught me to see and approach each of my films differently. Despite the hours I spend writing and questioning myself, I’m a woman of instinct and feelings. It must always come from the heart. In this story, the heart is sweet, simple, filled with light.
Everything’s fine articulates itself on the bright sight of things, despite the sadness of a family disconnection that hides behind it.
