Biography

In recent years, Jeanne Leblanc has made short films that have traveled the world in several festivals. In addition to her career as a filmmaker, she also works as an assistant director and as a lecturer in film at the Université du Québec à Montréal. In 2016 she directed her first feature, "Isla Blanca", a work where she invites viewers into an intimate and poetic drama. A dive into the beauty and complexity of affiliate relationships. This new opus fits coherently in the career of this director: she tackles themes previously treated in "Garrincha" (2017), "Carla in 10 seconds" (2016) and "One night with you" (2011) Ostracism, the complexity of intimate relationships, loneliness in the ultimate moments. From the grandeur to the cruelty of human relationships, these are the themes that animate the artist's sensitive and sober approach.
