Richard Lavoie was only a child when he first decided to make films. He was fascinated by his father's cinematograph, Herménégilde Lavoie being one of the first filmmaker from Quebec. Fascinated by the cinematography of his father Herménégilde Lavoie, pioneer of Quebec cinema, Richard Lavoie found his vocation from childhood. A long-term filmmaker, independent filmmaker, his work explores the many facets of life through a look of an insatiable curiosity for the country, the people who inhabit it and art in all its forms
