Metamorphic Studies
Synopsis
Shot on 16mm film, this experimental work is a series of studies on the relationships between rocky and aqueous materials along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River. A presence weaves through the multiple textures, punctuating these organic micro-atmospheres. Through our porosity to the environment, we embrace an intuitive and sensory dialogue with these subjects, giving free rein to our human subjectivity.

Biography
Without the tenacity of Elizabeth Crispo (the instigator of the Nous serons des géantes à notre mort project), we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to co-create this work, developing a methodology that combines intuition and know-how.
This first co-creation is part of the development of a specific approach that is both sensitive and experimental. We launched the project in a neo-materialist spirit, in dialogue with the materials involved. We observed the relationship between water and rock and tried to draw inspiration from their interactions to develop a cinematographic point of view on this dialogue.
The disciplines that define the media to which we belong (the art of movement, the art of sound and the art of the moving image) came together to create phrases based on material recorded on 16mm film and digital sound recorders.
