Program description
SPIRA supports artists by providing assistance in the form of film-equipment rental services, a post-production suite, and personalized guidance when needed. Independent short, medium and feature-length film projects of all types (fiction, experimental, documentary, installation, etc.) are welcome. Series-type works may also be submitted to the Collaboration program. All submitted projects must be independent productions.
To access these resources, filmmakers must submit a project that will be evaluated by a review committee. Once the project is accepted, the applicant may become a member and will then only have to pay 5% or 10% of the production equipment rental rate. They will also be able to rent the post-production suite at the Collaboration or Collaboration Micro-Budget rates.
Submission dates
Submissions may be made at any time.
The response time is 12 business days for short films and 20 business days for medium-length and feature films, as well as web series. Projects must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the first equipment pickup for a short film, and 8 weeks for a medium-length or feature film or web series.
