Piché Returns To The Ring

Helgi Piccinin / 2021 / 23 min. / Canada / FRENCH

Synopsis

At 64, Bruno resumes training in order to return to the boxing ring one last time. After two difficult hip surgeries, this former boxer, now a village baker, decides to organize an epic amateur match to bring his community together and to celebrate his “rebirth”.

During this memorable evening, 10 friends will come to face him for 10 two-minute rounds. Like a man’s fight against the passing of time, Bruno has made a point of passionately celebrating life at an age when most people are quietly retiring.

PICHÉ RETURNS TO THE RING is a short documentary wavering between folktale, legend and sports film.
