Synopsis

A young woman returns to her home town after the death of her father. As a single daughter, she must empty the house of her father, who was a compulsive accumulator (or hoarder). She will then revisit, through the various stacks of objects, the life of her father, trying to find out what her specific place is among this multitude of memories.

Biography

Jean-Marc E. Roy and Philippe David Gagné met in Saguenay in 2002 and have been working together since 2008. A long-time fellow of CALQ and SODEC, their productions have been seen in several countries, in festivals and on television, and have won numerous awards around the globe. We were able to follow them in Labrador in their series "PICK-UP: meeting one end of the world" which also won a Gemini in 2012. Another web-documentary series, "COWBOY: a Canadian dream" was also nominated for the Gemini Awards. Their latest short film, "BLEU TONNERRE", was selected at Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2015 and has won numerous awards. The two directors are currently working on their respective feature films (fiction for Gagné and documentary for Roy) and on the production of a new documentary series "RETIREMENT (S)". They founded their production company in 2016, LA BOÎTE DE PICKUP, and their first production, "CREME DE MENTHE", has its world premiere at the 49th Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, in 2017.
